  1. We have been harvesting marigold seeds. If it sounds idyllic, it really is. Of course, moments like these are rare in our busy lives, but it's at times like this that we really love what we are doing. And the marigold seeds are totally eco! They are self-seeding, are bee friendly, the flowers go in our salads and the seeds go in your gift boxes. We think it is a magical gift for parents of newborns as the seeds will bring them flowers year after year as their child grows - wonderful! And if they move, they can harvest some seeds and start the whole cycle again.

The marigold seeds pop up in some of our gift boxes like the New Mum Nest.

  2. zero waste week

It is almost the end of Zero Waste week: did you take the pledge?

Thinking "Zero Waste" is a great way to reduce landfill waste but also save money: they usually go hand in hand.

Already in its 7th year, Zero Waste week's theme this year is "One more thing". Most people do their best to reduce their waste and recycle what they can but we all know we could do more. By taking a pledge, we can decide on a small thing to change and pledge to follow it through long-term (maybe even forever).

Here are some ideas taken from the Zero Waste website:

    • Ditch plastic carrier bags
    • Pack a zero waste lunch
    • Recycle your Tetra Pak cartons
    • Take clothes to a textile bank
    • Shop naked!
    • Declutter without landfill
    • Reduce food waste
    • Repair something
    • Spread the word!

By the way, naked shopping is buying without any waste or extra packaging: a naked cucumber as opposed to a naked customer!

At Really Eco Baby HQ we have pledged to declutter without landfill. What will you choose?

You can submit your pledge on the Zero Waste website (and receive their newsletter) but we would also love for you to let us know!

Or why not sending us picture of your Zero Waste week: who will have the smallest bin bag (or none at all??)

  3. The sun has got his hat on, hip hip hip hooray!

The sun has got his hat on and we're going out today!

Open the doors, open the windows and go out in the city, the countryside, wherever you want! Bask in the sunshine and get all your vitamin D.

We want to celebrate and share the mediterranean weather so EVERY order this week will include a mini bar of Green & Black Butterscotch for you to sample. Made with organic milk, organic butterscotch and organic vanilla, all following Fairtrade standards, It’s not a fast process but, as you can taste, it’s a rewarding one.

There is no minimum order amount and if you order one of our bestselling Gift Boxes, we will tuck this little addition nicely in the hamper nest.

By the way, you don't have to do anything, just place your order before 3rd August midnight and we will include your free chocolate (while stock last).

    Enjoy!

  4. melody signature

Really Eco Baby is very proud to stock  wonderful cards by the London-based artist Melody Seal: they will bring a personnal touch to your gifts and you won't find those on the high street.

What's more, Melody designed our new message cards and we absolutely love them! They will be a great addition to our gift boxes.

All of her work is made using sustainable, recycled, fairtrade and organic materials and is mostly inspired by nature and our connection (or disconnection) with it, as well as traditional folktales and tribal art from around the world. She hopes to use her art as a platform to promote sustainability, ethical and environmental issues as well as to bring inspiration, beauty and imagination into the lives of others.
